I’ve been home from Houston for weeks now, but I’m still thinking about all the lovely quilters, teachers, and designers I saw there. My new friend Ebony Love spoke into me many works of wisdom. Tuesday Tip – The Best New Thing!

Check out my new bling! It’s more than a pretty ring; it’s my new favorite sewing tool. I picked this up at Quilt Market. You’d never guess it was invented by a fisherman. Wear this adjustable ring while sewing and you never have to reach for your thread snips again! It has a sharp blade hidden underneath the gems. Just pull the thread through the slot at the base, and it cuts to a perfectly threadable clean edge. Tuesday Tip – Use the Right Needle for the Job

Do you go through several projects without changing your needle? If you sometimes skip this step, and then run into problems with your machine, chances are all you need is a fresh needle, or the right needle for the job. Here are some basics on machine needles. Don’t try to scrimp and save using the same needle all year! If your needle looks the least bit crooked, replace it! And if the tip has a little catch or a bur, change it! It will do wonders to improve your sewing, and they are not expensive: the cost is worth it! You…
